CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS for the Archives and Historic Preservation Committees

Please submit in writing your interest in the Archives and/or Historic Preservation Committees.  Be as specific as possible about your skills, talents and qualifications for serving as a volunteer on the committee.  Emails may be sent to Gene Swearingen, Town Manager at: managergene@garrettparkmd.gov

The Barbara Shidler Archives Committee "The mayor shall appoint with the approval of the Council, seven citizen members from among Town residents who have lived in Garrett Park for at least one year and who are qualified by special interest, knowledge, experience or training in such fields as library science, records conservation, database compilation and maintenance, historic preservation, oral history, or complementary disciplines. If feasible, one member of the Archives committee shall be drawn from the membership of the Historic Preservation Committee."..."Members shall be appointed for a term of five years."  -Garrett Park Code of Ordinances, Chapter 1, Section 113.                                        https://www.garrettparkmd.gov/government/committees/archives-committee

The Historic Preservation Committee "The Committee shall consist of five citizen members and a member of the Town Council appointed by the Mayor...from among Town residents who have lived in Garrett Park for at least one year and who are qualified by special interest, knowledge or training in such fields as history, architecture, landscape architecture, urban design or historic preservation. ...and shall serve for a term of three years." -Garrett Park Code of Ordinances, Chapter 4, Section 400                  https://www.garrettparkmd.gov/government/committees/historic-preservation-committee
