Animals in Garrett Park
Please comply with our laws and those of the County by keeping your animals leashed when walking them in our Town.
Under [the GP Town Charter] Article II, Section 78-17, the Town prohibits dogs that are “at-large” or considered a “nuisance” (clauses 78.36 and 78.43) --as defined by State and County law. If you are not aware of the public nuisance provision under Chapter 5 of the Montgomery County’s Animal Control code, please see Article II – Prohibited Conduct, Section 5.203. If the County were to find your dogs’ conduct a public nuisance, they could issue a Class A fine (Article III, Section 5.305).
For the health of the community, please ensure that you are scooping up any feces from your pets when you walk them.
