The Betsy White Fund

635949571212770000This fund was established in 1969 by the Garrett Park Women’s Club and, for more than 50 years, it has provided emergency funds for residents and employees of Garrett Park.  The fund is designed to provide assistance quickly in emergency situations like illness, loss of employment, fire or other difficulties. 

As of October 25th, 2022 the following are eligible to apply: 

  • Town residents
  • Town employees
  • Employees of Garrett Park Nursery School
  • Employees of Black Market
  • Employees of Town residents

 

To meet eligibility requirements, employees listed above must have worked regularly for at least one year for the respective employer, and must still be currently employed by that employer. The Trustees of the Fund will, on a case-by-case basis, determine eligibility based on both the employee’s work record and the employer’s temporary personal emergency situation at the time of application.

The fund is administered by anonymous trustees and applications are treated with strict confidentiality.  A brochure with further information and an application form is online below, or can be obtained from and returned to the Town Office.  Money to replenish the Fund comes from individual donations and various Citizen’s Association and Women’s Club functions.
