Registered residents may request absentee ballots in person at the Town Office, by mail, or by email beginning 60 days prior to the election (Thursday, March 5, 2020). The absentee ballot will be sent to the requester by U.S Postal Service. Absentee ballots are available to a voter at any time that the Town Office or the polls are open and can be picked up and returned by an agent specified by a voter unable to come to the polls. On the day of the election, absentee ballots are available at the polls.
All absentee ballots must be returned in hard copy to the polls or the Town Office up to the time of closing of the polls on election day. The absentee voting process is designed so as to protect the privacy of the voter, ensuring that the identification of the voter is separated from the vote cast.
